The loop is a mix of coins thrown in a metal bowl, paper being ripped and an actual cash register. Here are some to start with: Heart beat in the beginning of DSOTM: I read somewhere that this is in fact Nick Mason's bass drum and not an actual heart. It would be cool if we could select the background stories we know here and maybe create a full list in the end. I know that a lot of these come from BBC or EMI's sound libraries but some of them were done by the band members or engineers. I would love to know more about how these were captured or modified etc. In Pink Floyds music there are a lot of sound effects not made by music instruments and some that in fact are done by music instruments or voices but either doesn't sound like it or clearly doesn't come from the band sessions. ![]()
